Neonatal and Adolescent Medicine

All neonatologists train as doctors first, which means they complete four years of medical school and then train in their area of specialisation by completing a residency and fellowship. No specific undergraduate major is required to become a neonatologist, but some majors may prove more useful than others.Generally, adolescent medicine is required for the following:

  • Eating Disorders
  • Bulimia Nervosa
  • Anorexia Nervosa
  • Behavioural Problems and Pubertal development
  • Low birth weight infants
  • Pain management therapies in neonates
  • Bilirubin Encephalopathy
  • Phototherapy
  • Role of progenitor cells in neonatal physiology
  • Non-invasive neonatology and Neonatal resuscitation
  • Forensic Dentistry
